Tin Snip Straight & Tight cuts Left – Red handle
Tin snips are hand-held cutting tools, also known as shears.
Designed to cut sheet metal:
- Aluminium – 1.6mm
- Cold rolled sheet metal – 1.2mm
- Galvanised sheet metal – 1.2mm
- Stainless steel – 0.7mm
There are various snips available, depending on the cutting style:
- Yellow handle – Straight cuts and wide curves
- Red handle – Straight cuts and tight curves to the left
- Green handle – Straight cuts and tight curves to the right
